      <image:title>Advocacy - BIRTHKUWAIT</image:title>
<image:caption>I got involved with this extraordinary organization in 2014, with the goal of supporting and empowering families through their journey from preconception, pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, and early parenting. From being a founder of the breastfeeding support program, vice chair of the executive board, to later consulting on strategy and planning it was a labor of love. Every family Birthkuwait has impacted makes it worth it.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Advocacy - Breastfeeding Friendly University Initiative-BFUI</image:title>
<image:caption>Breastfeeding has long lasting health benefits for both mom and baby. However, many challenges can arise that can shorten the duration of breastfeeding. One of the most common challenges is having to go back to work or school. Through the implementation of BFUI we sought to help support breastfeeding mothers, specifically at Kuwait University by providing facilities and services that support the continuation of breastfeeding and overall promote mother-friendly policies on campus.</image:caption>

      <image:title>About - A little about me..</image:title>
<image:caption>As an enthusiastic individual with a deep passion for working with young people, I have a firm belief in the impact that education can have in shaping future generations. My experience growing up in a multicultural home, with a Cuban American mother and a Kuwaiti father, has instilled in me a unique understanding and appreciation for the richness that different cultures bring to the fabric of our society. I find fulfillment in creativity, helping people, and inspiring others to make a positive impact in their communities. My journey has led me to accumulate knowledge and experience in various areas, driven by my fascination with human behavior, the power of technology, and the influence of culture and society on our perceptions and actions. Having pursued academic training in computing with a specialization in human-computer interaction, my love for studying and collaborating with people lead me to gravitate towards health-related topics. I have actively engaged in research in technology to support individuals with autism, diabetes, and accessibility needs. More recently, my personal journey into motherhood has fueled my dedication to developing technology that supports community-based maternity health workers and the mothers and infants they care for. Through my teaching and research activities, I seek to make a positive impact on future generations and deepen my understanding of the world, while my advocacy work fills me with pride and personal fulfillment. I constantly challenge myself to think outside the box and embrace entrepreneurial endeavors that push boundaries and drive positive change. It is my firm belief that educational settings hold immense importance in shaping future generations, and I am committed to leveraging my experience in education leadership to make a lasting impact. With a unique understanding and appreciation for multiculturalism and the power of multidisciplinary activities, I enjoy bringing diverse perspectives together and fostering an inclusive environment where individuals from all backgrounds can thrive.
